Youth + Zen + Japan - Subarashii!

On toward Japan in the sprit of Zen and interconnection!

Drew, and Chloe, (two home-school students) along with thier mother Jayne, will be traveling with our Soto Zen Teachers to experience Japan's renown culture first hand. Leaving our comfort zone brings more opportunities to empathize, feel connectedness to all beings, and meet our expanding circle of sangha; all important to the practice of Zen.

We will be staying at Eiheji, Sojiji and Nisodo Temples with our teacher Rev. Teijo Munnich and good friend Rev. Chimyo Atkinson. While Chimyo attends confirmation services in the Buddhist lineage, we will be by her side supporting her through this important journey.

As world-schooling education students we appreciate travel as firsthand experience to build social skills, and challenge the resourcefulness that is valuable in foreign situations. While in Japan, we will be following a learning curriculum of geography, and the history of the country's language. We are really looking forward to seeing Japan's unique culture with rabbit cafes, onsens, street foodies and more. We will also be visiting Zao Fox Village, and Miyaki Deer Park.

Drew and Chloe are planning and working toward, and adding to this account as money is earned. In this way it will be a visual reminder of the Japan goal and the personal push needed for this trip to happen.

By funding us, you are supporting two home-school students in thier journey to Japan in support of a Zen Practitioner. We deeply appreciate all the proceeds and encouragement that are given to us through GoFundMe.
